World weightlifting championship 2025
The Weightlifting World Championship will be held over 10 days in early October 2025. There will be heavy lifts and outstanding athletic performances every day, with finals and medal ceremonies in the evenings. You are an essential part of the World Championship celebration—come and join us for a festival atmosphere in Førde!

The sporting aspect will, of course, be the focus of the World Championship, and we will facilitate world-class athletic performances. The World Weightlifting Championship (VM) is owned by the Norwegian Weightlifting Federation, AK Bjørgvin, Førde IL, and Tambarskjelvar IL. The event will largely be based on volunteer efforts, which will be compensated through the distribution of equipment and financial surplus. Additionally, the organization has an administration team working on the planning and marketing of the 2025 Championship.
