Privacy policy

The privacy policy describes how this website collects and uses information about visitors. The policy contains information you are entitled to when personal data is collected from our website, as well as general information about how we handle personal data. The legal owner of the website is the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data within the organization. It is voluntary for visitors to provide personal data in connection with services such as receiving newsletters and using the share and tip services. The legal basis for processing the data is the individual’s consent, unless otherwise specified.

1. Web analysis and cookies

As an important part of the work to create a user-friendly website, we analyze the user patterns of those who visit the site. To analyze this information, we use the analytics tool Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies (small text files stored on the user’s computer) to register the user’s IP address and provide information about the user’s movements on the website. Examples of what the statistics provide answers to include: how many visitors visit different pages, how long the visit lasts, which websites the user came from, and which browser is being used. None of the cookies allow us to link information about your use of the website to you as an individual.

The information collected by Google Analytics is stored on Google’s servers in the USA. The received information is subject to Google’s privacy policies. An IP address is defined as personal data because it can be traced back to a specific hardware and, therefore, to an individual. We use Google Analytics’ tracking code, which anonymizes the IP address before the information is stored and processed by Google. Therefore, the stored IP address cannot be used to identify the individual user.

2. Search

If the website has a search function, information about the search terms used by the user is stored in Google Analytics. The purpose of storing this information is to improve our information offerings. The usage patterns for searches are stored in an aggregated form. Only the search term is stored, and it cannot be linked to other user information, such as IP addresses.

3. Share/tip service

The “Share with others” function can be used to forward links to the website via email or share content on social media platforms. Information about the tip is not logged by us but is only used at that moment to submit the tip to the social platform. However, we cannot guarantee that the social platform does not log this information. Therefore, all such services should be used with caution. If you use the email function, we only use the provided email addresses to send the message without storing any information.

4. Newsletter

The website can send out newsletters via email if you have registered to receive them. To send emails, you need to provide an email address. Mailmojo is the data processor for the newsletter. The email address stored in a separate database will not be shared with others and will be deleted when you unsubscribe. The email address will also be deleted if we receive feedback indicating that it is inactive.

5. Registration, forms

The website may have registration forms, contact forms, or other forms. These forms are made available to the public to perform the tasks they are meant for. We then request the name of the sender and contact information. The personal information we receive will not be used for any purpose other than responding to the request. The reason for this storage is to confirm that emails are sent from the website and forwarded to the correct recipient. Once the email has been received by the recipient, it is up to the recipient to determine the data processing requirements of the email.

6. Page and Service Functionality

Cookies are used in the operation and presentation of data from the website. These cookies may contain information about the language code for the language selected by the user. There may also be cookies that support load balancing of the system to ensure all users have the best possible experience. For services that require login or search, cookies may be used to ensure that the service presents data to the correct recipient.

7. How to manage cookies in your browser
