If you’re traveling to Førde, there are many different options available. Førde is centrally located along the E39 highway between Bergen and Ålesund, making it easily accessible by both car and bus.
Bergen is the closest International Airport, 3,5 hours drive from Førde.
Førde has its own airport with daily flights to Bergen and Oslo, in addition to being close to airports in Florø, Sandane, Ørsta/Volda and Sogndal.
If you’re traveling by bus, Førde is a hub for routes heading south, north, and east via Skei.
For those traveling by sea, there is a daily fast ferry service from Bergen to Florø. From Florø, buses run regularly to Førde throughout the day.
The World Weightlifting Championship (VM) is owned by the Norwegian Weightlifting Federation, AK Bjørgvin, Førde IL, and Tambarskjelvar IL. The event will largely be based on volunteer efforts, which will be compensated through the distribution of equipment and financial surplus. Additionally, the organization has an administration team working on the planning and marketing of the 2025 Championship.
