The sporting aspect will of course be the focus during the World Championship, and we will ensure that world-class athletic performances are supported. At the same time, the World Championship will bring vibrancy to all of Førde and Sunnfjord through many other experiences, both indoors and outdoors. Who are we?

The World Championship is owned by the Norwegian Weightlifting Federation, AK Bjørgvin, Førde IL, and Tambarskjelvar IL. The event will largely be based on volunteer work, which will be compensated through the distribution of equipment and financial surplus. Additionally, the organization has an administration team that works on the planning and marketing of the 2025 World Championship.
